Snowliloquy

  1. I had a dream I was a satellite
  2. and then I woke and I was
  3. still a satellite. Signals shot through me
  4. like birds in the dark. I was transmitting
  5. something. Cubes of essence stolen
  6. from the Moth Man. Snowflake after
  7. snowflake like jellyfish drifting
  8. through the void above a balcony in Brooklyn.
  9. My friends in California, selling out
  10. falling asleep, falling in love or out.
  11. Loneliness is barely more
  12. than nothingness. It’s Snowbody
  13. touching your thigh in bed. Snowbody
  14. chopping the peppers for the soup. Snowbody
  15. calling your name from the control room
  16. late one night. When Snowone is around
  17. you think about them. Or you gauge
  18. the rate of your disintegration. The exact
  19. amount of detritus you’ll leave floating
  20. through your friends. Maybe you fall
  21. apart. Or you break off a shard
  22. and send it to someone else.
  23. A distant stranger taking off their mask.
  24. No more transmissions for tonite.
  25. Signed, Yours Truly, Ben Mirov.
